The two simple things that you need to know before you can answer that question.

For thousands of years, science and religion has been fighting a war trying to prove their case on who has the right answer to the question “What happens to us when we die?” 

Now, in the 21st century, millions of people can be reached through the power of mass media quickly and easily so we are hit from every angle with ideas from both sides. The information age has become information overload and we become more confused. Basically, when everyone is shouting, nobody gets heard.

That leaves our mind with an unanswered question, a big one at that. In reality, our whole decision making process is thrown out of whack because we are being pulled in two different directions. When we can’t make a logical decision in a major area of our belief system then the smaller areas get affected too, causing a whole chain reaction of unfinished business in our life.

Luckily, you do not need any outside help from anyone to answer the question. Believe me; the two sides will be battling this out forever. Why should they stop? There is too much fun and profit in it for them. See only you can answer the question, and you have the answer inside of you right now, you always have, and I am going to show you how to find it, if you are ready to look for it.

OK, here we go. When you really think about it, you can only break this question down into two scenarios.

A.  You die and your spirit lives on in a higher realm
B.  You die and that’s it. They bury you in the ground

Now let’s break each of the scenarios down in no particular order - I tossed a coin.

A.  You die and your spirit lives on in a higher realm

In this scenario you believe in a higher power. I am not going to start picking apart different religions as that will create a whole new battle. I am just saying that as long as you believe in the fact that there is a higher power that keeps this whole world together then you are following scenario A.

Funny thing is that if you really look at all the major religions of the world they all have one common thread.  The Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. No matter what book you read the same applies.  We really fight about nothing. Seems as though through different interpretations peoples fight because the person doing the interpret ting twists the message around to favor whatever they are looking to accomplish.

Getting back to scenario A, our spirit evolves here on earth by our works and how we deal with others. So it is in our spirits best interests to make the world a better place, treat people well and become the best we can be in this lifetime because when we die, that spirit is going to live on forever, hopefully in heaven if we do well enough.

B.  You die and that’s it. They bury you in the ground

This is the scenario for the atheists. There is nothing else after you die. You had your run here on earth and that’s it. If this is your belief, then it is in your best interest to have the best life possible. Go out and get it all and make it happen because you are not going to be here long.

Funny thing about this scenario is that you can go out there and have all the fame and fortune you want and after you die what happens? People fight over what you have left. Everybody has their hand out and after the battle is over what happens? You’re in the ground and eventually the world forgets about you because now there is somebody new who is conquering the world.

So what can we do to make our mark in the world? We are not going to live forever and when we die we go in the ground and that’s it. Think about all the rich people who have lived and died then faded away, do you want to be one of them? Of course not, so if you can’t live forever, the only thing you have left is to give the world something that will last forever.

Now you don’t have to be a great artist, writer or builder to make something that is remembered for years to come. It can be a simple as treating people great and being remembered for always doing the right thing. The only thing you have to ask yourself is did I work for myself my entire life or did I try to leave the world a better place for future generations to come.

Hey, so what’s the difference?

Exactly! You see, it all really boils down to treating people as you would want to be treated yourself and making the world a better place than when you got here. That brings me to a very interesting statistic that I would love to share with you.

In the entire history of the earth there has never been a bad person who has died happy. The chips always get cashed in somehow. Sometimes they seem like they are beating the system for awhile, but sooner or later it all comes apart one way or another.

Now, if it was like - “all the people who ever lived” to “two.”  I would say, OK, at least there is a shot.   But no, the score is “all the people who ever lived” to “Zero.”
That leads me to believe I am much better off playing for the “Good Guys” side.

We are all here to help each other; no one can do it alone. We all bring special gifts to the table making each one of us a piece of a giant puzzle called life. There is no reason to fight so we need to work together and make the world a better place.

So really, it’s you that makes all the difference.

Now it can be argued that some atheists are the biggest believers in the afterlife because they could be saying to them selves, “Hey, there better not be a GOD because if I am going to be judged after I die them I am totally screwed.”

And on the other hand, after you die, if you do get to go to heaven your body still gets buried in the ground, only your spirit gets to go.

So what should I do now?

Discover the Power. Join in the fight, not with each other but for each other, to make the world a better place for everyone and future generations to come. You see, the spirit is more than just what can leave the body after it has expired. It is also what you leave behind for others, your mark.

Your spirit needs to be cultivated and given the attention that it deserves as it is your most valuable asset. It’s the only one that increases in value the more that you use it or give it away, so treat it with respect.

Because in the end you going to have to answer a very important question “What will happen when I die?” and the answer will be when they buried my body the spirit lived on forever.
